Vijay’s stills from hit movie before Suriya replaced him go viral

One of the films that gave Thalapathy Vijay the biggest break in his career was ‘Poove Unakkaga’ directed by Vikraman released in the year 1996.  Five years later Vijay whose career graph was soaring high joined hands with Vikraman once again for ‘Unnai Ninaithu’ and the trade was abuzz with excitement due to the blockbuster combo.

Vijay shot for a few days for ‘Unnai Ninaithu’ but opted out of the project due to creative differences with the director.  Vikraman then restarted the movie with Suriya and the film went on to become a hit.

The stills of Vijay and Laila who played one of the heroines in ‘Unnai Ninaithu’ has now gone viral on the internet.  The pics were shot when scenes with Vijay were canned and later similar costumes were donned by Suriya too.

‘Unnai Ninaithu’ has Suriya as a young man who sacrifices everything in his life to make his lover Lailaa achieve her dreams but she ditches him in the end for better prospects.  Sneha played a bubbly girl who falls for Suriya and gets him in the end.  The acting of the leads, family-friendly subject, the melodious songs and the hilarious comedy sequences involving Charlie, R. Sundarajan and Chithra Lakshmanan were other major highlights of the film.
