The urban local body elections for more than 12,500 wards in Tamil Nadu were held on February 19. Within minutes of the polling starting at 7 am, Thalapathy Vijay arrived at the polling booth in Neelangarai, Chennai to cast his vote. Crowds gathered around the area to catch a glimpse of the megastar and photos and videos related to it were flooding the social media throughout the day.
Vijay went to the location in a red Maruti Celerio car and returned in it after casting his vote. Photos of the 'Master' hero in the car too went viral and some persons noted the registration number and claimed that the insurance for the car had expired in 2020 and that a penalty for 2021 was outstanding. Needless to add that the controversy erupted on the internet and spread like wildfire.
Vijay's official spokesperson has put a fullstop to the issue by posting a copy of the up to date insurance certificate for the Celario on Twitter. Vijay fans are celebrating the clarification and trolling the vested interests who tried to taint the box office giant's image.
On the professional side Vijay's new action thriller 'Beast' directed by Nelson and produced by Sun Pictures is in postproduction and is likely to hit theaters worldwide on April 14th. In a few weeks time he will begin work on his next 'Thalapathy 66' directed by Vamshi and produced by Dil Raju.
