Suriya after a brief lull in his career has had a tremendous 2020 as his 'Soorarai Pottru' directed by Sudha Kongara not only garnered world record views on Amazon Prime Video but critically acclaimed all over the globe. The film also was a contender for the Oscars.

Suriya started shooting for his next 'Suriya 40' directed by Pandiraj and produced by Sun Pictures but it has been halted due to the COVID 19 second wave. Now the director has opened up about the project and has given a few hot updates during a rare social media interaction on his birthday that fell on June 7th.

Pandiraj has revealed that 35 percent of the shooting is over and his team is elated by the result after watching the rushes. He also added that the team is raring to resume work as soon as the lockdown ends.

The family-friendly director has also given the biggest update the anbana fans have been writing for which is that it will be the mass title for 'Suriya 40' and has asked them to wait till July for a rocking first look. Needless to add that the Suriya fans are in celebration mode on social media.

'Suriya 40' has music by D. Imman and has Suriya and Priyanka Arul Mohan as the lead pair while Vinay, Saranya Ponvannan, Soori, Sathyaraj, Jayaprakash, Ilavarasu and Devadarshini.
