Popular playback singer and “Padutha Teeyaga” judge Sunitha has released a video on social media addressing recent serious allegations made by contestant Pravasthi Aradhya. Brushing aside the claims, Sunitha said, “Character isn’t built on rumors, and neither is reputation destroyed by them. We are confident that truth will prevail over speculation.”
Pravasthi, who was recently eliminated from the show, accused Sunitha, music director MM Keeravani, and lyricist Chandrabose of discriminatory treatment and harassment. Responding to these charges, Sunitha said, “When Pravasthi was a child, I once comforted her with affection. But she’s 19 now, and it’s not appropriate to do the same now.”
Sunitha clarified that she chose to respond only because her name was specifically mentioned. “If my name wasn’t involved, I wouldn’t have bothered to address such baseless claims,” she added.
She also explained the song selection procedure on the show. “Pravasthi knows that songs are chosen based on the telecast rights available to the TV channel. If a channel doesn’t have rights to a song, it simply cannot be used, and there’s no other motive behind it.”
Meanwhile, MM Keeravani and Chandrabose have not yet made any public statements on the issue.
