At the music launch event of a new film, director and actor Subramaniam Siva’s speech about Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi leader Thol. Thirumavalavan has gone viral online. Speaking at the event, Subramaniam Siva said, “Among today’s leaders, Thirumavalavan stands out as one of the most prominent, best, and inclusive leaders.”
He recalled, “Back in 1999, I was working in Thanjavur promoting pesticides in different villages. People there would mention various insect names to me. Interestingly, in many of those villages, I would see posters with the phrase ‘Athumeeri Adangamaru’ featuring Thirumavalavan’s name.”
“I used to wonder how he managed to reach all those rural areas. Thirumavalavan should have become a cinema hero. In fact, he did a photoshoot back then, and when we saw those pictures, we thought a new Vijayakanth or Murali’s brother has arrived in cinema. Unfortunately, due to his dedicated involvement in politics, Tamil cinema missed the opportunity to have a hero like him,” Siva added.
This speech has garnered attention and shares across social media platforms.
