Director Pari Ilavazhagan Reflects on Art Director’s Passing and National Award Hopes

Art director Srikanth, known for films like ‘Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum’, ‘Jada’, and ‘Good Night’, has passed away.

Director Pari Ilavazhagan, who worked with Srikanth on the film ‘Jama’, expressed his shock over the sudden loss. The film, released in August last year, received positive reviews despite low expectations. Ilaiyaraaja composed the music, and Srikanth served as the art director.

Srikanth reportedly suffered a third heart attack and had been in the ICU for two days before passing away. He had never spoken about his heart condition before, and his colleagues were unaware of it. Known for his dedication and humility, he actively worked despite having assistant art directors, never hesitating to contribute wherever needed.

Pari Ilavazhagan noted that Srikanth gave his heart and soul to ‘Jama’ and strongly believed the film had the potential to win a National Award. His mortal remains have been taken to his hometown, Mettur. The director expressed his deep condolences for the loss.
