Last year, actor Silambarasan confirmed that he will be doing 'Billa 3' with director Venkat Prabhu and the official announcement will be made in the appropriate time. However the actor and director went on to be occupied with other projects.

Now the latest rumours doing rounds in Kollywood circles is that Vishnuvardhan who directed 'Billa 2007' with Ajith will be making 'Billa 3' with STR. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be the music director, if this project materialises.

STR's latest release 'AAA' has become a box office disaster and if he takes up 'Billa 3' as his next, it will be a terrific comeback for the much loved actor.

However we cannot conclude anything until we get an official announcement.

'Billa' is the 1980 film starring Rajinikanth and it was the remake of Amitabh Bachchan starrer 'Don'. The Tamil 'Billa' was remade with the same title in the year 2007 with Ajith and that became a trendsetting super hit. In 2013, 'Billa 2' released with Ajith in the lead role and that was the prequel to 'Billa'.
