Should Game of Thrones Final Season be Redone?

A Change.org petition with the support of over 200k fans is urging HBO to “remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers.” Unhappy with final season, the fans have voiced their discontent with the use of the petition which reached 200k signatures on Wednesday.

The creator of the petition reported on the site that “David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”

The reponses of fans to the second last episode ‘The Bells’ were mixed. A few previous episodes such as the third one had also drawn criticism. The series finale is at 9 pm this Sunday on HBO. A documentary of the making of Season 8 titled ‘The Last Watch’ will be aired on May 26th. Talking about the documentary, HBO said it “delves deep into the mud and blood to reveal the tears and triumphs involved in the challenge of bringing the fantasy world of Westeros to life in the very real studios, fields and car-parks of Northern Ireland. Much more than a ‘making of’ documentary, this is a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world – and then have to say goodbye to it.”
