The summer box office season continues to lose momentum as several mid-range films postpone their releases, making May look increasingly dull for theatres. Joining the list now is Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s much-awaited comeback film Maa Inti Bangaram.
Production house Tralala Moving Pictures officially announced that the film will now release worldwide on June 19, 2026, instead of its previously scheduled date of May 15. The makers reportedly took the decision to avoid competition from the ongoing Indian Premier League season, which is expected to impact theatre footfalls.
Maa Inti Bangaram holds special significance as it marks Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s return to the big screen after nearly a three-year break. The actress had stepped away from films due to health and personal reasons. The movie also becomes her first release after marrying director Raj Nidimoru in December last year.

Raj Nidimoru is associated with the project as the showrunner, while successful filmmaker Nandini Reddy is directing the film. The combination has already created strong curiosity among audiences and industry circles.
The makers had quietly slowed down promotional activities in recent weeks, hinting at a possible postponement. With the new release date now confirmed, the team is expected to restart promotions from early June with fresh promotional content and updates.
