Popular television actor Sanjeev made his acting debut on the big screen with 'Kulir 100 degrees' and has done a few other low budget flicks before switching on to the teletube.  His very first serial 'Raja Rani' became a huge hit due to the impeccable chemistry with costar Alya Manasa and the pair came to be known by their character names Chemba and Chinnaya (Karthik).  As the daily soap went on for two years rumours started spreading that the couple have become a pair in real life too and while participating in reality shows they conceded that they are in love.

In one of Vijay TV's events Alya and Sanjeev exchanged garlands and got engaged on air and there was curiosity among fans as to when the wedding would happen.  Sanjeev in his social media has made a sudden announcement "Yes we got married on papu’s birthday itself...we dint announce cus of some issues?? it’s an official announcement now...need all your blessing..  It has been revealed that the wedding took place on May 27th with only close friends and family in attendance.
