A day after the Narendra Modi government liberalized the vaccination strategy by allowing greater freedom for States and private players, Rahul Gandhi blasted the Centre. In a tweet on Tuesday, the Congress leader alleged that the Centre has come up with a ‘Vaccine Discrimination’ strategy.
As per RaGa, it’s bad that there is no policy for guaranteeing vaccination to those who can’t afford to pay. Also, people in the age bracket of 18-45 will not have access to a free vaccination, the Wayanad MP alleged.
“No free vaccines for 18-45 year olds. Middlemen brought in without price controls. No vaccine guarantee for weaker sections. Government of India’s Vaccine Discrimination- Not Distribution- Strategy!,” he tweeted.
Reacting to RaGa’s criticism, columnist Akhilesh Mishra wrote, “50% non-GOI channel has state government channel as well (apart from open market). States are free to devise distribution policy including giving it free between 18-45 (like GOI above 45). Tell your government in Maharashtra to not do vasooli and vaccinate for free.”
