Thalapathy Vijay’s 2005 hit ‘Sachein’ is set for a grand re-release, 25 years after its original run. The official announcement has sparked excitement among fans, and a video statement from the film’s producer, Kalaipuli S. Thanu, is now going viral online.
Directed by John and featuring Vijay, Genelia, Vadivelu, Bipasha Basu, and Santhanam, Sachein was first released on April 14, 2005, as a Tamil New Year special. The film was a commercial success at the time, earning significant profits.
Now, with preparations underway for its re-release, the official date is expected to be announced soon. Speaking about the film’s second theatrical run, producer Thanu expressed his confidence in its success:
“When Sachein was released in 2005, children who were five or ten years old at the time wouldn’t have seen it in theaters. Now that they are in their 30s, I believe they will return to celebrate it on the big screen. This re-release will bring in 10 times the profit of the original run!”
He further added, “Today’s youth have a wonderful opportunity to experience this film in theaters. I am confident that this re-release will be a massive success!”
With a dedicated fan base eager to relive the nostalgia, Sachein’s return to cinemas is expected to be a grand celebration for Thalapathy Vijay fans.
