Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh’s ’83′, which is based on the 1983 Cricket World Cup, is gearing up for the release of his sports drama on April 10. The news is that Akkineni Nagarjuna has joined hands with the makers of the Bollywood project to present the movie’s Telugu version on Annapurna Studios.
“India won its first world cup in 1983 and we still get goosebumps when we think of that moment. Very happy to present the Telugu version of the film,” Nag today said.
This is not Nag’s only connection with the Hindi film industry these days. He is playing a key role in ‘Brahmastra’, which has Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan in main roles.
Kapil Dev is whom Ranveer is essaying in the movie. The ‘Gully Boy’ actor had to undergo rigorous training for the role. The film sees Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Harrdy Sandhu as Madan Lal, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Singh Sandhu, etc. Deepika Padukone has a cameo as Kapil’s wife.
