Kamal Haasan is balancing his film career and his political work for his Makkal Needhi Maiam party. He is currently shooting for ‘Indian 2’ directed by Shankar and is expected to start his directorial venture ‘Thalaivan Irukinran’ costarring Vadivel early next year. Kamal has now made the official announcement that his Raj Kamal Films International has acquired the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of ’83’ the Hindi biopic of how Kapil Dev won the first cricket world cup for India.
’83’ directed by Kabir Khan has Ranveer Kapoor as Kapil Dev, Deepika Padukone as Roma Dev, Jiiva as Krishnamarchari Srikanth, Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Dhairya Karva as Ravi Shastri and an ensemble cast. Music is by Pritam and Julius Packiam, cinematographer Aseem Misha and jointly produced by Vibri Media, Reliance Entertainment and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film releases in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages on April 10th, 2020.
