Na Muthukumar the celebrated lyricist of Tamil cinema whose poetry touched millions of Tamil hearts all over the globe unfortunately passed away at the young age of 41 in 2016. He is survived by his wife Jeevalakshmi Muthukumar and a son and a daughter.

Muthukumar's school-going son Aadhavan has penned an emotional poem on his dad's birth anniversary which roughly translated goes "My dad was born in Kancheepuram and it is my boon that I was born to him...My dad's lyrics are pure gold and he will always remain the lion of our house...My dad's words are all pearls and he is our most priced possession...I love my dad and my heart pains whenever I feel his absence...My mother was the most beautiful rose to my dad and likewise in his songs he was always the king..."

Aadhavan's final lines of the poem are heart-wrenching as the departed soul...You are the father of me and my sister...Is there anything wrong in wishing that you lived longer with us". One thing though is obvious that the talent of Muthukumar has certainly passed on to his offsprings as well.

என் தந்தையின் பாடல்கள் சொக்கதங்கம்

அவர் இல்லை என்று நெஞ்சம் சில நேரம் வலிக்கும்

என் தந்தைக்கு என் அம்மா ஒரு அழகிய ரோஜா

எப்பொழுதும் அவர் பாடல்களில் அவர் தான் ராஜா

எனக்கும் என் தங்கைக்கும் நீங்கள் தான் அப்பா

இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் நாள் உயிரோடு இருந்தால் என்ன தப்பா
