‘Mithai’ Teaser: The Comrade Exhorts

‘Mithai’, touted to be a dark and surreal comedy, is directed by debutant Prashant Kumar.  Its ideological (?!) teaser, released today, features Rahul Ramakrishna (of ‘Arjun Reddy’ fame) delivering a long monologue.  The self-proclaimed comrade is righteously furious against the trap laid by the capitalist system.  Fittingly, ‘Are you a corporate slave?’ is asked in the end.

“Mithai’s Dude abides but he must help two losers find the thief in a twisted plot of love and fate,” the makers say, keeping us guessing about the plot.  

The film belongs to a rare genre.  Arsha, Swetaa Varma, Aditi Myakal, Rahul Ramakrishna, Priyadarshi, Kamal Kamaraju, Ravi Varma, Bushan Kalyan (who was seen as the college dean in ‘Arjun Reddy’), Ajay Ghosh, Vijay Marur and ‘Jabardasth’ Ramu are also part of the cast.  

Music is by Vivek Sagar.  The cinematography is by Ravi Varman Neelamegam.  Editing is by Garry BH.  It’s co-directed by Pranay Myakal.  Chinnabathini Pradeep Kumar is the Executive Producer.  Sri Ranjini Soma is taking care of the digital publicity segment.  It’s produced by Dr. Prabath Kumar.
