In ‘Mithai’, Sai (Rahul Ramakrishna) and Jani (Priyadarshi) will be seen as two crazy, all-weather friends. Ahead of the dark comedy’s release in early 2019, the makers have released a video clip in which the characters are seen as VDO comics. Titled ‘THE ADVENTURES OF SAI AND JANI’, this is meant to convey cheers on this eve of New Year.
Debutant Prashant Kumar is directing this entertainer. The young filmmaker, who actually hails from Bihar, watches international cinema. ‘Mithai’ is a tribute to the style of filmmaking that the Coen brothers are known for.
The entertainer also stars Ravi Varma, Kamal Kamaraju, Bhushan Kalyan (the ‘Arjun Reddy’ dean is here with Sundari, a goat whose bleat is as cute as its avatar), Swetaa Varma and Aditi Myakal. Shot in night effect, it has music by Vivek Sagar, the guy whom our directors trust to come up with new-age output. The cinematography is by Ravi Varman Neelamegam and the visuals are unapologetically not-so-flamboyant. Editing is by Garry BH and lyrics are by Kittu Vissapragada.
