‘Ponniyin Selvan’ team’s official press release regarding the magnum opus teaser launch event!

On Wednesday, we reported to you that the magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ teaser will be launched at a grand event, organized by the movie team, on July 8, Friday. Indiaglitz was among the first to break the news to you in this regard. 

Now, the latest update is that the makers have released an official statement regarding the teaser release. ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1′ teaser launch event will kickstart around 6 PM on July 8 (Friday) at the Chennai Trade Centre. Rumours state that the film’s cast will don their characters’ looks in the function. 

The movie team’s official press release statement read: 

“Dear Friends from the Press and the Media, 

We warmly invite you to the teaser launch of our film ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ Part-1 on 8th July 2022. We would be delighted to have your support when we bring out the first visuals of our film. 

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ Part-1 is slated for a worldwide release on September 30, 2022 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. 

The magnum opus directed by Mr. Mani Ratnam is based on Kalki’s eponymous Tamil novel that was serialised in the 1950s and has remained a sensational success ever since. 

An adventure ride set in the 10th century, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ tracks the factional power struggles within the Chola empire, with the enemies of the state acting as catalysts. The story is set in the tumultuous period before Arunmozhi Varman, later known as Raja Raja Chozhan became one of the greatest emperors in Indian history ushering in a Golden Age.” (sic).
