‘Majili’ Teaser: Past is cloudy, future is sunny

A passionate sportsman whose time is ticking.  A broken dream.  A broken heart.  Years later, he stands a chance.  But will he warm up to the new life? ‘Majili’, directed by Shiva Nirvana, has a dark feel writ all over its short Teaser.

The story unfolds in two phases.  In the past, Naga Chaitanya was a cricketer who fell in love with that neighbourhood dream girl (played by Divyansha Kaushik).  In the present, he seems to have lost his way.  Not only has he become more violent but has also seen his physical charm wither away somewhat.  But there is that awesome woman (Samantha Akkineni) pining for him. 

The beard, the not-so-soft elders, the cigarette, the liquor – things are so relatable.

Touted to be a cricket-based romantic drama, the film also features Rao Ramesh, Posani Krishna Murali, Shatru, and Rajasri Nair.  As far as the teaser is concerned, Gopi Sundar’s BGM is effective. Vishnu Sharma’s cinematography and Prawin Pudi’s editing seem to be a plus.

‘Majili’ will hit the screens on April 5.
