Why was Vishal – Karthi starrer Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja shelved?

In 2017, the movie Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja was launched with a pooja and the movie was supposed to have Vishal and Karthi in lead roles and Sayyeshaa playing the female lead. Planned to be directed by Prabhu Deva, the movie was supposed to be produced by Isari K Ganesh.

However later the movie was shelved, and there was no information on why the movie did not progress. Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja was launched with the intention of using the profits made by the movie for the construction of Nadigar Sangam building. Now Isari Ganesh has revealed the incidents that happened.

Isari Ganesh has said that he had paid Prabhu Deva and Harris Jayaraj for the movie, and had promised to pay Vishal and Karthi after the business. However Vishal did not come for the shooting, and if at all he had acted in the movie, by now the Nadigar Sangam building would have been constructed, revealed Isari Ganesh in a recent interview.
