Thalapathy Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan is set to release as a Pongal special on January 9, 2026. Directed by H. Vinoth, the movie has fans eagerly waiting to catch it in theaters in just a few weeks.
Since Vijay launched his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam and has been sharply criticizing the ruling DMK, reports claim that Sun TV made no effort to acquire the satellite rights for Jana Nayagan.
Following that, a fierce competition reportedly ensued between Zee Tamil and Vijay TV for the rights.
Now, Zee Tamil has officially bagged the satellite rights for the film, reportedly paying a whopping ₹64 crore.
Notably, the same Zee group (Zee5) has acquired the OTT rights for Sivakarthikeyan’s Pongal release Parasakthi, with a deal worth ₹52 crore.
With pre-release business for Jana Nayagan already hitting massive heights, this satellite deal has further heightened expectations. As Vijay’s last film before full-time politics, it’s setting new records in trade!
