Jagan’s record-breaking decision: Five Deputy CMs

YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the new chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, is in the news for an unusual reason.  He is going to appoint five Deputy CMs in his Cabinet.

Jagan is doing it not only for administrative purposes but also for political reasons, say analysts.  The five Deputy CMs will belong to SC, ST, OBC, Kapu and Minority segments.

This is the first-of-its-kind instance in the country of a State having five Deputy CMs.  That too, for a relatively smaller State like Andhra Pradesh, it’s nothing less than surprising.  Even the most populous Indian State, Uttar Pradesh, has got only two Deputy CMs.
