Raghava Lawrence has announced that he will not be directing ‘Laxmmi Bomb’, the Hindi remake of ‘Kanchana’. Writing an open statement, he suggests that he was disrespected by some people associated with the movie.
The First Look of the film, featuring Akshay Kumar as a transgender, was released on Saturday. Guess what, it was designed and released without the director’s knowledge. Lawrence came to know about it from someone else. The director decided to step out of the project immediately. ”As a creator, I am not happy with the design of the poster. This should not happen to any director,” he writes.
“In this world, more than money and fame, self-respect is the most important attribute to a person’s character. So I have decided to step out of the project,” Lawrence adds.
Will the project now be stalled? Lawrence is not going to demand that his script should not be used. ”I personally have a lot of respect for Akshay Kumar sir. I will soon meet him and give him the script,” he says.
So, the ‘Kanchana’ remake will happen but someone else will direct it.
