The deadlock between top director Shankar and Lyca Productions over the long delay of the ambitious 'Indian 2' starring Kamal Haasan is continuing without a semblance of reconciliation in sight. Shankar had opted to direct two films 'RC15' in Telugu and 'Anniyan' remake in Hindi in the coming months but Lyca went to court seeking a ban on other films before completing their project.
The court initially asked the two warring parties to come for an understanding and gave them time but the common ground could not be found. Shankar has filed a counter petition that Lyca is the main reason for the delay of the project along with Kamal Haasan's makeup allergy, on set accident that claimed three crew member's lives and the COVID 19 pandemic.
Though the court refused to ban Shankar from directing other projects Lyca was allowed to appeal against the decision. Now it has been reported that the production house owned by Subhashkaran has gone one step further and has written to the Film chambers of Tollywood and Bollywood requesting them to stop Shankar from directing the planned films without completing 'Indian 2'.
