Directed by Janakiram Marella and presented by Kona Venkat, the film is produced by Venkat Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati under the Skanda Vahana Motion Pictures LLP banner. Mahima Nambiar plays the female lead.
Sree Vishnu Reveals a Star Hero Appreciated Comrade Kalyan
Speaking at the success meet, Sree Vishnu expressed happiness over the positive response the film has received. He said audiences were appreciating it as a wholesome family entertainer and enjoying the comedy in theatres.
The actor revealed that a prominent star hero had called him and appreciated the film. He added that the actor would attend one of the upcoming promotional events, while keeping the identity a surprise for now.
Sree Vishnu also spoke about the response to the film’s ‘Acharya Dhalam’ dialogue, which has emerged as a major highlight in theatres. He revealed that when Kona Venkat first suggested the idea, he recommended discussing it with Megastar Chiranjeevi.
According to Sree Vishnu, Chiranjeevi burst into laughter after hearing about the scene and predicted that it would become one of the film’s biggest highlights. The actor said the audience reaction in theatres had lived up to that expectation.
Balakrishna Fans Appreciate the Film
Sree Vishnu revealed that the makers are planning theatre visits to thank audiences for their support. He also expressed happiness over the response to Radhika’s character, adding that he had received positive calls from Nandamuri Balakrishna’s fans as well.
The actor explained that the film also deals with a serious subject that he had heard about during his childhood. The team presented the subject through a humorous commercial entertainer, and he was pleased that audiences had connected with this approach.
He further thanked moviegoers for making the film part of their Dasara celebrations and expressed hope that the positive word of mouth would continue.
Kona Venkat on the Film’s Success
Writer and presenter Kona Venkat said he was delighted with the response to ‘Comrade Kalyan’. He noted that audiences were laughing throughout the film and that positive word of mouth was coming in from different places.
Kona Venkat said the team was particularly happy that viewers had embraced the decision to present a serious subject in an entertaining manner.
He also revealed that the makers had originally shot a jatara episode for the film. However, as it was affecting the flow of the story, the team opted to introduce a special comedy track featuring Vennela Kishore instead. That track, too, has received an encouraging response from audiences.
Kona Venkat Says Writing Gives Him the Greatest Happiness
Kona Venkat, who worked on the film as both a writer and producer, said writing remained his greatest passion.
He explained that he originally entered the film industry as a writer and continues to find the greatest satisfaction in that role. However, he sometimes takes on production responsibilities to introduce new talent and bring certain stories to the screen.
Concluding his remarks, Kona Venkat described ‘Comrade Kalyan’ as a film that families can enjoy together in theatres during the Dasara festival.
With positive audience reactions, memorable comedy sequences and growing word of mouth, Sree Vishnu’s ‘Comrade Kalyan’ is aiming to make the most of the festive theatrical season.
