Veteran actor Kamal Haasan made headlines with his sharp wit and bold statements at the promotional event for the upcoming film ‘Thuglife’, attended by stars like Mani Ratnam, A.R. Rahman, Simbu, and Trisha.
During the event, actress Trisha was asked about marriage. She candidly responded,
“I don’t believe in marriage. If it happens, fine. If it doesn’t, that’s fine too.”
Following her, Kamal Haasan took the stage and delivered a humorous and thought-provoking speech that caught everyone’s attention.
Referring to a past question from MP Brittas, Kamal shared:
“He asked me, ‘You come from such a respectable family. How can you believe in Lord Ram and still get married twice?’ I told him, ‘I’m not Lord Ram. I’m more like Ram’s father! I still have 49,000 marriages left to go!’”
He continued, adding with a smile:
“Whether or not I worship God is a separate matter. But I don’t understand the connection between coming from a good family and getting married more than once.”
Kamal’s comments, mixing humor with a touch of rebellion, drew laughter and applause from the audience. As always, the legendary actor managed to stir thought—and stir the room—with his signature charm and fearless honesty.
