I won’t forgive those who insult Gandhi: Modi

In just the last 24 hours, four BJP leaders have glorified Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi.  Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur called him a patriot.  Karnataka BJP heavyweight Anant Kumar Hegde backed her comments.  And Nalin Kumar Kateel compared Godse with Rajiv Gandhi.  Finally, Anil Saumitra described Gandhi as the “Father of Pakistan”.

Narendra Modi has on Friday broken his silence on the condemnable statements by his party members.  He said that he won’t forgive them for insulting the Mahatma.  The PM said that their comments are deplorable, disgusting and uncivilized.

BJP president Amit Shah has asked his party’s disciplinary committee to submit a report on the leaders’ comments on Godse within 10 days.
