Actor Thalapathy Vijay‘s final film, Jana Nayagan (releasing January 9, 2026), has run into censorship issues. The film, recently submitted for certification, has been advised by CBFC officials to remove several scenes and mute certain dialogues.
In particular, reports indicate that blood-splattering scenes in fight sequences need to be toned down. Buzz suggests around 64 cuts have been recommended, potentially leading to an ‘A’ certificate. The team plans to implement the changes and resubmit for certification, with work expected to wrap today (December 29).
Meanwhile, the team is discussing releasing the Jana Nayagan trailer on December 31 night as a New Year treat. Directed by H. Vinoth, the film stars Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Menon, Priyamani, and others. Produced by KVN Productions, it features cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan and music by Anirudh Ravichander.
As Vijay’s farewell film before entering politics full-time, the project carries immense anticipation, and these censor developments have added fresh buzz!
