Rahul Gandhi has on Tuesday unveiled his party’s manifesto. It contains big-bang promises, including the recently-promised NYAY. The Manifesto Committee was headed by P Chidambaram. Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh were present during its launch.
Here we bring you some of the key highlights of the Grand Old Party’s manifesto:
We will eliminate poverty in India through NYAY by 2030. Five crore poorest families will get Rs 72,000 per annum.
About 22 lakh vacancies will be filled by the Centre. State governments will be urged to fill up 20 lakh vacancies.
Fuel will be brought under the GST regime by 2021.
New businesses won’t need any permissions for the first three years of their existence.
There will be a separate budget for farmers.
About 6 percent of GDP will be spent on education.
150 days of guaranteed employment under MGNREGS. Currently, it’s 100 days.
