We have seen two-part movies in India. But trilogies are very rare to come by. Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are doing ‘Brahmastra’, which is a trilogy. But the movie is a fantasy, not an action movie trilogy.
In Telugu, an unlikely director and a reputed production house are planning to launch their action movie trilogy soon. The director is none other than Sreekanth Addala and the production house is Geetha Arts.
In his latest interview to promote Venkatesh’s ‘Narappa’, Addala has said that the films will be set in the backdrop of Guntur. “They will be laced with action. I am not going to divulge any details regarding the cast. But it will be titled ‘Annai’ and will be a period drama with a contemporary feel,” the ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ director said. While it’s a period trilogy, it won’t be a costume drama.
Geetha Arts is yet to chalk out a plan as to the pace of the three movies. Will the second and third parts immediately follow the first edition? Let’s wait and watch.
