Half of Supreme Court’s staff test positive for coronavirus

In a shocking piece of news, half of the staff of the Supreme Court of India have tested positive for coronavirus. This has prompted immediate, urgent action on the premises of the court, where sanitization has been undertaken at a breakneck speed.

Reportedly, judges are planning to hold hearings via video conferencing. As per national media reports, 44 of the 90 people who were tested on Sunday turned out to be positive cases.

Meanwhile, the caseload is at a phenomenal high in India. Here are the cumulative figures:

Cured/Discharged/Migrated: 1,21,56,529

Active cases: 12,01,009 

Deaths: 1,70,179

So far, 10.43 crore individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine, of which 1.29 crore have received both doses.
