At a time when the film industry has received a body blow due to Covid-19, the Andhra Pradesh government has taken an industry-friendly decision. As requested by the Telugu film industry and television sector, shootings (once permitted after the lockdown) can be done without having to pay any fee.
"It has been decided to issue shooting permission free of cost to all the film and television producers to encourage more production of films in the State of Andhra Pradesh," a GO on Tuesday says.
Producers are required to pay some caution deposit, which is refundable. "It has been decided to remit the shooting permission charges payable to concerned departments as caution deposit, which may be refunded after the submission of shooting completion certificate from the concerned departments," the GO adds.
