Niharika Konidela’s Pink Elephant Pictures, in association with Maximum City Studios, has announced its upcoming film Pocket Rockets. Written and directed by Rudra Atri, the urban drama has completed shooting and is currently in post-production. Featuring a promising young cast alongside seasoned actor JD Chakravarthy, the film explores ambition, financial struggles and the risks people take to achieve their dreams.
Trinadh Varma, who earned recognition for his performance in Committee Kurrollu, and debutant Nirmal play the lead roles. Shriya Kontham, known for Shubham, is the female lead, while JD Chakravarthy appears in a pivotal role.
The story revolves around a brilliant student from an underprivileged background who dreams of pursuing higher education abroad. However, financial constraints threaten to derail his ambitions. Desperate to find a way forward, he turns to gambling, bringing him into the orbit of a manipulative gambling shark.
The premise sets the stage for a gripping conflict between ambition and morality, examining the difficult choices people make when their aspirations seem beyond their financial means. With its contemporary setting and relatable themes, Pocket Rockets aims to present an engaging urban drama without revealing the key twists in its narrative.

The film is produced by Padmaja Konidela, Rahul Raghavendra and Rahul Nimmakuri, with Ramesh Manyam serving as executive producer. Edurolu Raju handles cinematography, Gyaani composes the music, and Anwar Ali is responsible for editing. Vishnu Vardhan Pulla serves as the production designer, while Rajesh Lanka oversees action choreography and JD handles choreography.
The technical crew also includes costume designer Anusha Devara, SFX supervisor Sai Maneendhar Reddy, co-director Murali Krishna Katta, makeup chief Pasupuleti Ravi Kumar, costume chief R. Bhupal Rao and production controller Rawindar Bekkam. Varahala Murthy is responsible for still photography, while SK Naidu and Phani Kandukuri of Beyond Media handle publicity.
Pocket Rockets marks another feature-film venture for Pink Elephant Pictures, founded by Niharika Konidela. The production house previously made a notable mark with Committee Kurrollu, directed by Yadhu Vamsi, which won Best Telugu Film at the 72nd National Film Awards.
With production wrapped and post-production progressing, the makers are expected to announce the film’s release date and additional details soon. The combination of a contemporary storyline, emerging talent and JD Chakravarthy’s presence makes Pocket Rockets a project to watch out for.
