Natural Star Nani is backing another promising entertainer after presenting the successful film COURT – State Vs A Nobody. Titled Alias Rukmini, the upcoming film stars Nithiin in the lead role and is directed by Dhandora fame Murali Kanth Devasoth. Produced by Deepthi Ganta, the film has now begun its musical journey with the release of its first single, ‘Ruku Ruku Rukmini’.
Rather than being just another love song, ‘Ruku Ruku Rukmini’ introduces audiences to the romantic world of Krishna, a young man whose heart is captivated by Rukmini, a schoolteacher. Krishna sees her regularly on his way to court, where he works, and gradually develops feelings for her. While he dreams of winning her heart, the uncertainty surrounding her response adds an interesting dimension to his love story.
Romance Meets Comedy
The song’s biggest highlight is its humorous treatment of romance. In a quirky moment, Krishna even submits Rukmini’s photograph to a judge as evidence during court proceedings, inviting a scolding. The sequence cleverly shows how love has taken over his mind, leaving little room for anything else—even his professional responsibilities.
Vijai Bulganin delivers a melodious composition, blending soothing tunes with vibrant orchestration, guitars and violin arrangements. Purnachary’s lyrics capture the emotions of a young man in love, while Anurag Kulkarni’s expressive vocals add warmth to the composition.
Nithiin appears as an ordinary middle-class youngster, bringing a relatable quality to Krishna’s character. Aafiya Sayed plays Rukmini, a strict schoolteacher whose personality was previously showcased in a separate character-introduction glimpse. Their pairing and the song’s light-hearted moments offer a glimpse of the film’s romantic-comedy appeal.
A Promising Entertainer on the Way
The film has already generated curiosity through its title announcement glimpse, which introduced Nithiin in a distinctive characterisation marked by humour. The first single now expands that world, hinting at a story that combines romance, comedy and an unexpected secret.
The technical team includes cinematographer Jomon T. John ISC, music composer Vijai Bulganin, production designer Avinash Kolla and editor Srujana Adusumilli.
With love, laughter and an intriguing storyline at its core, Alias Rukmini is gearing up for a December 4 theatrical release. The makers have begun promotions on a musical note, and ‘Ruku Ruku Rukmini’ sets the stage for what promises to be a refreshing romantic entertainer featuring Nithiin.
