By the end of this year, customers in the US and some advanced could receive Amazon orders delivered by a drone. The e-commerce giant has unveiled a helicopter-cum-aircraft design that will do the needful.
As per the company, this early model will be used to deliver small items like toothpaste to select segments in the US by the end of the year. It seems the company will slowly scale up the system if the pilot project succeeds.
“The design of the drone is safe. It won’t interact with humans on the ground, nor will it interrupt aircraft flying in the sky,” a report says.
Introduction of drones for commercial services is not easy in many countries. Regulatory bodies have to give permission for that. In India, widespread drone usage is a far cry.
