The Maharaja director posted photos on his X (formerly Twitter) page, revealing that he was personally invited to dinner at the home of Oscar-winning screenwriter Alexander Dinelaris — a memory he says he’ll cherish for life.
Nithilan, who made his directorial debut with Kurangu Bommai in 2017, gained widespread acclaim for Maharaja, starring Vijay Sethupathi. The film became a major commercial success, grossing ?190 crores worldwide.
During his trip to the U.S., Nithilan met Dinelaris, best known for writing the Academy Award-winning film Birdman. Expressing his gratitude, Nithilan wrote:
“Birdman is one of my all-time favorite films. It’s not every day you get to have dinner with an Oscar-winning screenwriter. Thank you, Alexander Dinelaris, for welcoming me into your home and treating me with such warmth and kindness.”
