Director Mari Selvaraj's latest film 'Vaazhai', released on August 23, has been met with overwhelming success, garnering both critical acclaim and impressive box office collections. Produced on a modest budget of ₹5 crores, the film has reportedly grossed over ₹40 crores, becoming a blockbuster across Tamil Nadu.

During the 25th-day celebration event for the film, Mari Selvaraj shared exciting news about a potential sequel. Addressing the audience, he said, "I created the film 'Vaazhai' to help people understand me better. If there’s still any confusion, I’m prepared to make 'Vaazhai 2' and several more sequels. The character of Sivanaindhan will definitely appear in 'Vaazhai 2' because there is one more hard-hitting story to be told."

This confirmation has thrilled fans, as child actor Ponvel is now set to reprise his role as Sivanaindhan in the sequel. Currently, Mari Selvaraj is directing the sports drama, 'Bison', featuring Dhruv Vikram, Anupama Parameshwaran and Rajisha Vijayan. Following that, he is expected to collaborate with Dhanush on another project.
