As Dhanush’s pan-Indian film Kuberaa gears up for its theatrical release on June 20, the official runtime has surprised fans — and not entirely in a good way.
Directed by Shekhar Kammula, Kuberaa stars Dhanush alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Nagarjuna. With music by Devi Sri Prasad, the film will release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
While the teaser received a positive response, the latest buzz is around the film’s certified runtime. According to reports circulating on social media, the movie clocks in at a hefty 195 minutes — that’s 3 hours and 15 minutes. This unusually long duration has led to mixed reactions, with some fans expressing concern over the pacing and length.
Recent big-budget films like Indian 2 also had lengthy runtimes, and in some cases, underwent trimming post-release. It now remains to be seen whether Kuberaa will follow a similar path or if the makers will shorten it during final edits before release.
With final technical work underway, an official confirmation on the final cut is expected soon.
