Andhra Pradesh on Thursday crossed a new milestone in terms of number of Covid-19 tests conducted in the State.  The Health Ministry announced that six lakh tests have been held so far.  Importantly, the testing capacity was ramped up after the first two months and, since then, the number has increased exponentially.

“With the rapid increase of testing capacity, Andhra Pradesh now reaches 6 lakh mark. From taking 58 days to test first one lakh samples it reduced it to 7 days/lakh samples,” the Health Ministry said.

58 days, 12 days, 11 days, 10 days, 8 days, 7 days is what it took for AP to add one lakh more tests.

As of Friday (June 18), the State has got 5854 confirmed cases, of which 2779 are active.  Discharged are 2983, while Deceased are 92.
