Even before their theatrical release, the business details of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Thalapathy Vijay’s Jananayagan are making waves online — especially due to a notable ?10 crore difference in overseas rights.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj with music by Anirudh Ravichander, Coolie is gearing up for a grand release on August 14. With shooting completed and post-production in its final stages, reports reveal that the film’s overseas distribution rights have been sold for approximately ?85 crore.
Meanwhile, Jananayagan, featuring Vijay in the lead, has also sealed its international rights, reportedly fetching around ?75 crore. Though both films are backed by star power and high expectations, this ?10 crore margin has caught fans’ attention.
Interestingly, it is being said that both Rajinikanth and Vijay have been paid a massive ?200 crore each for their roles in these projects. With such large-scale deals and growing hype, both Coolie and Jananayagan are expected to be major box office hits, both in India and abroad.
