Filmmaker Kalanjiyam had earlier filed a defamation case against actress Anjali, in April, when the actress went missing for a few days. Her claim was that she was being ill treated by her aunt and the filmmaker. She later decided to move out of the house and stay separately from her aunt.
Now her aunt has filed another case against the actress, claiming fifty thousand rupees every month as compensation. Aunt Bharathi Devi’s claim is that since she adopted Anjali in the year 2000, she has spent a grand total of seventy lakh rupees in nurturing her as an actress, in the hope that Anjali will take care of her in her old age. Now that the actress has planned to move away, Bharathi Devi claims the sum of money as compensation. The court of law will hear the petition on August 14th.
