It has been reported that a four-women gang has been holding people at knifepoint and robbing jewelry from them using a unique technique to lure their victims.
One of the victims, identified as Basheera Banu, has narrated her experience with the women and explained how the gang operates. The woman was walking down a street wearing gold jewelry as she was returning from a wedding when an old woman approached her, begging for money. Basheera handed her 10 rs, after which the old woman requested her to help her cross the street. As the two of them got to the other side, an autorickshaw stopped by them and the old woman reportedly pushed Basheera inside the auto, where there were two other women besides the driver, who was also a woman. The four of them took her to a secluded spot and robbed Basheera of her jewelry while holding her at knifepoint. After that, they left her on the roadside and drove away.
Basheera immediately informed her husband, who picked her up and went to a local police station. The police are on the lookout for the accused based on the victim’s descriptions and the CCTV footage in the area.
