Despite several MCU projects after Endgame, Larson’s character did not make any appearances, leading to various fan theories about her absence.
Finally, Brie Larson has addressed the topic and shed light on Captain Marvel’s absence. The actor revealed that she can relate to her character’s journey. Larson explained, “Carol kind of became a workaholic, and she lost touch with her heart and with family and friends. That’s certainly something I can relate to.”
Fans speculated that Captain Marvel might have a reference in the recent MCU television series, Secret Invasion. Samuel L. Jackson, who stars in the series, hinted at the character’s whereabouts, suggesting that she’s in distant galaxies and reluctant to respond to Fury’s calls.
Excitingly, Brie Larson will return as Captain Marvel in a more prominent role in The Marvels. In this film, she will team up with Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau from WandaVision and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan from Ms. Marvel. The Marvels is set to premiere on November 10, 2023, and Marvel has already released a thrilling two-minute trailer, giving fans their first glimpse of what’s to come.
