Mohan Bhagwat, the Sarsanghchalak of the Hindu nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, today welcomed the Ayodhya Judgement. Saying that the verdict should not be seen as victory or loss by any side, he added that it must lead to only calm celebration.
“We should forget all about the past, perform our duties expected of us,” he said.
About Muslims getting 5 acres of land in Ayodhya, he said, “Whatever the Supreme Court has said, we will study it. We want the government to do things that will end the dispute. It is for the government to do whatever has to be done. We want the temple to be built.”
Bhagwat also suggested that RSS’s sole focus from now onwards will be character-building and not any agitation.
