Sony Music and Knack Videos launched the second season of the successful program called ‘7Up Madras Gig’ earlier this year. The show aims to introduce fresh, original Tamil pop music and also showcases independent musicians, debut singers, and talented artists.
While the first season’s lineup had D Imman, Leon James, Vivek-Mervin, Santhosh Dhayanidhi, Oorka and Sajith Sathya, the 6 artists who came on board this season are Dharan Kumar, Ghibran, Sean Roldan, Darbuka Siva, Keba Jeremiah, and AR Ameen.
The Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman recently took to Twitter to post a brief video of A.R. Ameen’s gig in the show, captioning it, “Can you recognize him?” A 42-second promo video of the song, titled ‘Sago,’ sung by A.R. Ameen and composed by A.R. Rahman himself, has just been released by Sony Music. The full video of the song is expected to be released soon.
