The coronavirus pandemic that has been holding the world in its deadly grip for the past year or so showed some signs of reducing over the past few months. However, the sudden increase in the number of cases all over India suggests that the second wave is in motion and it is extremely important to maintain social distancing, wear masks and wash hands regularly to check it.

In the second wave, many celebrities have tested positive for COVID 19 including Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Sachin Tendulkar. The latest VIP to be affected is Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar.

The '2,0' star has taken to social media and has announced '"I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I'm under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action very soon,"

Akshay Kumar recently wrapped up his new movie 'Atrangi Re' costarring Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush and attended the pooja of his new film 'Ram Setu' in which he plays an archeologist opposite Nushratt Baruccha and Jacqueline Fernandez.
