Ajith Kumar’s action-comedy film Good Bad Ugly had a solid opening at the Tamil Nadu box office. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the film reportedly earned ?21.85 crore on its first day, surpassing the opening day earnings of recent big-budget films including The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), which made ?20.66 crore. This marks one of the strongest openings in recent Tamil cinema, topping titles like Vidaamuyarchi (?18.21 crore), Vettaiyan (?14.66 crore), and Kanguva (?8.49 crore).

Ajith Kumar’s strong fanbase across Tamil Nadu played a key role in the film’s strong opening. Good Bad Ugly was released globally on April 10, 2025, and is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, marking their debut in Tamil cinema. The film had created major buzz ahead of its release, originally announced as “AK63” in 2023.

The story follows a reformed gangster named AK (played by Ajith Kumar), who is trying to rebuild his life after 20 years in prison. As he attempts to reconnect with his estranged son, he is pulled back into a dangerous world involving twin villains and intense conflicts.
