Sithara made her acting debut in 1986 in the Malayalam film ‘Kaveri’ but its her Tamil debut ‘Puthu Vasantham’ directed by Vikraman that put her on top as one of the leading heroines in South Indian cinema. Ever since that she has completed more than hundred films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam opposite most of the top heroes.
Sithara who is 47 now has never married and in an interview to a Telugu media has for the first time revealed the reason. Sithara has stated that she took the decision not marry at a very young age and has stuck to it. She further added that she was very fond of her dad Parameshwaran Nair who passed away and after that, she further lost interest in settling down and is happy being single.
Sithara is now on a comeback spree in all South Indian languages and television serials and is open to offers in character roles.
