Actress suddenly withdraws sex abuse case against Tamil actor

Actress Rani who has started in films such as ‘ Kadhal Kottai’ and ‘Gemini’ is currently doing television serials.  A couple of days back she lodged a police complaint against popular character actor Shanmugharajan claiming that he sexually misbehaved with her on a serial shooting spot.

With singer Chinmayi’s Me Too movement going strong on sexual misconduct allegations on Vairamuthu, Kollywood was in shock to hear about ‘Virumaandi’ and ‘Pariyerum Perumal’ star Shanmugharajan facing the music this time.   However, Rani suddenly withdrew her complaint stating that Shanmugharajan apologized to her and she accepted it.

Shanmugharajan meanwhile has clarified that Rani’s allegations are false.  He has explained that in a scene she had to hit him and wanted gave him a severe blow to which he too reacted appropriately.  Rani had then given sexual misconduct complaint to the police but since it did not fall under the category she withdrew and he never apologized.
