Both the daughters of Kamal Haasan have followed his footsteps into the film industry. His eldest Shruti Haasan is already a well established singer and actress who is currently part of pan Indian biggies 'Salaar' and 'Bholaa Shankar' and 'NBK 107'.

Akshara Haasan on the other hand made her acting debut opposite Dhanush and Amitabh Bachchan in 'Shamitabh' and her Tamil debut in Vikram's 'Kadaram Kondan' produced by her father Kamal. She has currently completed 'Agni Siragugal' directed by Naveen and starring Vijay Antony and Arun Vijay.

Meanwhile Akshara Haasan's female centric film 'Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu' started streaming on Amazon Prime Video from March 25th. In a promotional interview the 31 year old questioned what is wrong if a girl buys condoms. This was in relation to a scene in the film in which her character does the same.

Akshara asked "What's wrong with a woman going to the store alone and buying a condom? There is nothing wrong with that. You are having safe sex, which means you are having sex properly. What's the problem with that?". She added that moreover men think that here women should control sex and that it is not possible since women are also human beings.

'Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu' is directed by Raja Ramamurthy and produced by Trend Aloud. It stars Akshara Haasan, Usha Uthup, Malgudi Subha, Anjana, Jayaprakash, Shalini Vijayakumar, Janaki Sabesh, Kalairani, Suresh Chandra Menon
